Rangiora.com is a locally owned business directory and community platform dedicated to supporting businesses, organisations and communities across North Canterbury.
In October 2026, Rangiora.com was acquired by MoMac Socialising Media Limited, a North Canterbury marketing and creative agency owned by locals Ryan McDonald and Michael Price.
For us, it was a natural fit. MoMac has worked with businesses throughout North Canterbury for many years, and Rangiora.com gives us another way to support local businesses, strengthen their digital presence and help people discover what is available right here in our region.
Not Just Rangiora!
Despite the name, Rangiora.com isn’t just about Rangiora.
The website supports the wider North Canterbury region, including Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Woodend, Pegasus, Ravenswood, Oxford, Amberley, Leithfield, Waikuku, Cust, Ohoka, Sefton, Loburn, Hanmer Springs, Cheviot and the many communities in between.
Our goal is to create a genuinely useful hyper-local resource where people can find local businesses, services, events and community information without having to search through large national or international directories.
Supporting Local Businesses
The way people search online is changing.
Traditional Google search remains important, but AI-powered search and recommendation tools are becoming an increasingly common way for people to find businesses, services and information.
Having a strong and consistent digital footprint across websites, directories and other trusted online sources is becoming more important than ever.
Rangiora.com gives North Canterbury businesses another place to establish that presence while making it easier for locals and visitors to discover businesses operating within our region.
Our focus is simple: help local people find local businesses.
We are Community Focused
While Rangiora.com is commercially operated, we want it to remain a community-focused and community-driven platform.
Alongside local businesses, we want to support community groups, charities, schools, sports clubs, cultural organisations, events and other initiatives that contribute to North Canterbury.
As the platform develops, we’ll continue introducing new features, improving the directory and finding new ways to showcase what is happening throughout the region.
What's Next For Rangiora.com?
Rangiora.com has been part of the local digital landscape for many years, and we’re proud to take responsibility for its next chapter.
We acknowledge the work of Jane Moratti, who originally established and developed the platform, and Amy Sheppard, who continued its operation from 2025 to 2026.
Our aim isn’t simply to maintain Rangiora.com. We want to continue building it into a modern, useful and trusted digital resource for North Canterbury.
We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to working alongside local businesses and communities to grow the platform.
Local businesses. Local communities. North Canterbury.
